I live in d.c. and you should expect to see a lot of history go out and see the sights like the capitol and museums and stuff for the smithsonian. Go see a wizards game and go to Gallery Place to go bowling and see a movie it has a nice atmosphere for like teens and people in their 20's

lots of museums and monuments. it's not as thrilling as you would think. no big skyscrapers like NYC. im not sure if you can go up the national monument (the tall pencil thing) but you used to. go to the National Cathedral and The Botannical Gardens. those are the 2 best things. I live here so i've done the whole city like twenty times and those things are still cool.
PS i dont know where your from but in a couple of months here it'll be burning hot (even more humid making it seem like 100degrees) outside. bring LOTS of summer clothes

What can you expect to see? People getting mugged and robbed in broad daylight. Panhandlers begging within sight of the White House. Methadone clinics handling thousands of addicts. Veterans of Bush's Iraq War receiving substandard care at Walter Reed Medical Center. Congressmen and Senators debating a non-binding resolution on the war while more and more Americans are being killed in Iraq.

You can look at the monuments and memorials and museums but look behind them for the human suffering in the Nation's capitol city.

Walking is easy.
Metro service is great, buy a monthly pass or something it will help you in the long run.

Taxi here in DC is worst part of it. but if you have to used one ask for price. Can be a ripe-off.

I live here and it is ok.
Plus British are the one who burn the white house and captiol hill. LOL
