Sadly no, but there is good treatment now with anti-retro-viral medication, so people with HIV can live longer, healthier lives (though only if they can afford them and are willing to live with the side effects!). Africa contains some of the poorest countries in the world and also has the highest incidence of HIV, so it is not surprising you hear some crazy stories comming from there - the pm of South Africa actually said that garlic is as effective as arv medication in treating HIV! Hopfully a real cure will be developed soon.

If they found a cure then there wouldn't really be a big problem anymore. But they have made pills which can help you against it and slow down the process. This has already saved a lot of lives.

There has never been a cure for a virus in the history of man.

Why would the complex HIV virus be any easier or different?

A vaccination would be the most likely thing to be created, and that doesn't seem to be too far off according to the research.

I believe there is a cure but you have to have millions of dollars to know about it. Everyone else that lives with it suffers if they aren't able to afford what Magic Johnson can afford.

You need to go talk to Magic Johnson about that one. Haven't heard anyone else getting cured from it. Don't you think it would have been front page news????
