CQC (close Quarters Combat) which though somewhat having origins in Jujuitsu, has no resemblance to it anymore. adaptation for the purpose has changed it from control and injure into maim and kill.

like most things we learn in life, we adapt them to suit our needs. point sparring would get them killed, so they adapted their training in various arts to make efficient killers.
it is sound trianing, as we all have no protection of our throats, eyes, knees etc. and CQc exploits our weaknesses. the aim is for instant damage, that doesnt require pain compliance to be effective. people have various amounts of pain tolerance so you damage parts that make a person less that effective in returning the attack.
destroy mobility, breathing, vision, and you can walk away. in theory anyway. some people wont aim to maim, but try to knock out the opponent. screw that, why take chances. if you only get one chance, make it count for a dozen chances. the true test of anything is the practice. everything is possible with the right mindset.
