just asking a girl out will make her heart flutter whether it's by handwritting or speech. if you're afraid to see her reaction try asking her over the phone or instant messaging. if you write it out just right then it will make her imagine it in her head as if you're kind of talking to her...
like...
"well...(insert girl's name) i was wondering if you wanted to... go to the dance with me..." that makes it sound more like if you're takling to her rather then writing an essay for someone.

Depending on the person writting the letter it can romantic but then again it could be very creepy to the woman you're asking. Safest route would be to ask her in person it shows strong character and she'll probably have more respect for you later on down the road.

It can be romantic if it is done correctly. Just asking 'Will you go out with me?' is not very romantic; but if you write her a really nice poem or just tell her all of the reasons you think she is wonderful, then THAT can be very romantic.

Poetry or beautiful love letters are good but remember, you can be misunderstood in a writing in comparison to words you speak
one on one.Are you afraid to talk to this person, think about why are you writ ting and you will answer your own question.writ ting
isn't crazy but it causes you to wonder if it's appropriate.Romance is in the eye of the beholder.Maybe may
not.

If its well written it can be very romantic.
Here's a poem/song that you can use:
Let's swim to the moon, Ah ha
Let's climb through the tide,
Penetrate the evening, that the city sleeps to hide,
Let's swim out tonight love,
It's our turn to try,
Parked beside the ocean,
On our moonlight drive
Let's swim to the moon, ah ha
Let's climb through the tide,
Surrender to the waiting worlds
That lap against our sides
Nothing left open,
And no time to decide,
We've stepped into the river,
On our moonlight drive.
(By the greatness of Jim Morrison)

Romantic, if written well. Ever read 'The Notebook'?

Ask her out in person...then you will have a reaction...in a letter, she may take a while to get back with you and it would be TORTURE!!

I'd prefer that cos it gives the girl time to think over rather than the face-to-face thing.
