I am about to interview a person (military officer) about World War 3. I have some questions on what to ask, but not alot. Does anybody have ANY suggestions on some questions? This topic is very large, and I don't have any particular imphasis on a certian subject within the topic, so.... any help or questions at all would be put to good use.

Considering that World War 3 is just getting started, you may want to ask them how and when the first nuke was delivered to the US on a barge, or how the unwatched biochemical facilities in the impoverished southern province of the former USSR leaked bioagents to terrorists in the area of interest. Or ask the time traveler how could possibly avoid world war 3 by agreeing to disagree with the other humans of the world. The fact is that the Muslim world will never be like our world, the religion was born some 540 years after Christianity, and in a sense is the next step in religious evolution which is to combine church and state, the very Arabic language itself cannot be translated because of the reference to Allah in everything. At the same type, we have peaked our evolutionary point from a political standpoint to achieve the same goals. We achieve peace and harmony by allowing diversity, they achieved peace and harmony by strict religion. Peace and harmony is peace and harmony, any way you cut it. The major portion of their society wants to live as Muslims, so they should be allowed. If they want to dislike us, fine. As long as they don't do anything. If no one attacks us, lets let it be. If they attack us, well... Right now we really need to de-escalate our efforts around the world and start concentrating on business opportunities other than oil.

If you meant WWII, that is broad. If it were me I would want to get a personal perspective as to what that person experienced in the war, whatever they did and where ever they went. Every single view is different and interesting for that reason. Enjoy your discussion with a hero.

As they answer questions, find things in their statements that lead to other questions. For example if they mention a major player in the war, ask why they get involved. It is an interview, so like Barbra Walters let it go where it seems natural. If you want Mike Wallace, find a few answers you want, and grill the person till they give you what you want.
