I Think that 2000 calories is the amount you need each day to stay healthy, and you sound healthy to me =D

In my opinion, as long as your 2000 calories are coming from a balanced meal, and not from high carbohydrate, high salt, high fat, and low micronutrient, low protein, sources, your doing just fine.

Some day when you're older, your metabolism will slow down and you WILL start to gain weight, and it is NOT a good idea to be in a habit of eating more than 2000 calories per day, so, if you're maintaining your 108 pounds at your current lifestyle, I'd say not to change.

If you ARE junkfooding, and your system isn't responding to the deficiencies of other nutrients enough to increase your appetite, I would recommend you seek the advice of an MD or a Nutritionist.

If your diet is pretty well balanced, though, then I would attribute your lower-than-average weight to the higher metabolism of youth and/or your current level of exercise, which WILL change as you age.. I can almost guarantee it.

Me, I'm 5-8 male, and all through high school I could, and often did, consume upwards of 3000 calories per day, and the most I ever weighed in high school was 135, but I was also a state-class distance runner, so I was burning off the calories almost as soon as I was ingesting them.

When I was 22, I could almost literally feel my metabolism slowing down, and with surgeries in both knees, and with arthritis all over, so I can't exercise as much, and with the stuffing-my-face habits I learned when I was younger, I cannot get my weight down below 200 lbs without my system going into starvation mode.

I would prefer for this NOT to happen to anyone else, including you.

Techinically, you should eat more. You are eating 2000 calories, and probably losing 2400 because of exercise, and everything else you are doing. You are also below the healthy weight.

You should be around 116 pounds for a 17 year old female. For an 18 year old (the year has barely started), you should be at least 120 pounds. This is about the lowest healty weight you should be. So, eat some more, please.

Look at this if you don't believe me.

That's the going rate of calorie in-take for the average person...if you're looking to maintain then stay with in the 2000 calories a day.

Calories are a little excessive but not for someone young and active like you. Watch the Carb intake also and try keeping it under 200-250 grams. People might say carb counting is just a craze, but there's seriously nothing wrong with curbing foods like Soda (non-diet), Pizza, breakfast cereal, fast food and anything that comes in a wrapper. Since you're so disciplined, try eating as much fresh food as possible by planning your meals (instead of getting stuck at McDonalds) and staying away from foods with alot of preservatives. When you go out to eat, get the healthiest thing they offer and enjoy it like it's the best thing they have. Keep yourself motivated and in the right mindset by reading about fitness and proper dieting in magazines, internet, or health books. I learned a ton about how my body processes foods just by reading the Adkins Diet book.

YOU ARE UNDERWEIGHT! Even the fact that you are counting by calories how much you are it weird as hell. I am 5'7 and 138Lbs and i think i am still too skiny. If i ever was your weight then it was when i was like 5'5 and 15 years old. Your weight need to a good 120lbs being 5'8 and 17 y o.
Keep working out, just eat more....you will be just fine. Its never good to be too skiny.

If you are really looking to maintain your weight, then you aren't eating enough.

I am 5' 6", 114-115 lbs, exercising 4 times/week. If I eat less than 2100 calories I lose weight.

Since you are bigger than me, and exercising more, you should eat more in order not to lose weight. I would say eat around 2200-2300 calories.

its fine. you do a lot of excersize so it burns off many calories. And you shouldnt look at your weight; rather, your body fat.

I would consume a bit more because you are underweight for your height.
