are there any ways of finding a free image hosting site which supports the file type psd. or are there any other ways of putting a layered image on to a smaller file, which could be used to be able to upload moving images.

image hosting sites generally want jpegs to keep file sizes down. layered files by their nature will be large and unweildly on the internet.
as for the movie bit, one piece of good software is adobe imageReady which comes with photoshop cs. there is an option for frames and outputting gif's which are small.
