Is it possible to become psychic?

I am really interested in the spirit world and am very open minded, so is it possible to become psychic or is it somthing you are gifted with at birth?

Some are psychics from birth, it is a family trait. Others acquire the ability through near death experiences or injuries and diseases that affect the brain.

Yes, anyone can learn to increase their psychic ability, and many good books have been written on the subject. Look in the "New Age" section of the book store. Expect to work with meditation and intuition for a long time.

Everyone has some psychic ability. People always say, "I knew that", or "I had a feeling about that", or other intuitive remarks. We all get messages in some form or another to help us through life. It is the heavenly way of looking out for us. Some Christians who have it feel it is okay because they are working through God. But most all psychics will tell you that it is coming from a divine source, a natural ability we all poses, and that they are just messengers, vehicles, or conduits of the divine realm.

Some people are more psychic than others and psychics can vary in their abilities as well. Some are born with stronger abilites than others, some come back from near death experiences with enhanced abilities. Even a sudden shock to your system can produce enhanced psychic abilities. And you can also improve your inherit, natural, psychic abilities. My own abilities are a result of all of the above.

Meditation is always stressed and a good place to start. It is basically a silent prayer where you invite the divine to guide you. Then allow all thoughts to clear your mind and remain in this relaxed state for as long as you like. It is good to meditate once or twice a day and extend the length of your meditations as the weeks go by.

It varies for each individual but some notice an immediate change and others notice a gradual change. I also advise my apprentices to breath gently through the area of their belly button during meditation as this helps to open up the body's spiritual centers and what is referred to as chakras.

As long as you invite and trust the divine you will be fine. The angels and the divine want to embrace us as fully as we will allow. They really want us to feel them and see them working in our lives. They could care less about proving themselves to the world.

everyone is gifted to a greater or lesser degree. If you ever had a "funny feeling" about a person, place or event that's your gift being accessed (usually subconsciously) and like every ability it can be honed with training and practice

do some research and find a tradition that works for you but keep your eyes and mind open. some "teachers" out there are only in this for money, sex or to have control over others(the most common). if you learn under a teacher make sure it's someone you trust completely

yes it is possible to become psychic and might happen to you when you least expect it it happened to me about 15 years ago i seems to happen when you are over your things that have to be done time like children grown up or you decide not to have any and your body is at peace with your spirit and things start to happen that are like small test from the spirit world and i think if you open up to these test then you are moved on and they the spirits except you and once that happens i don't think there is any going back your Like taken over by spirits and told so many things about life and death so its there and if your the type of person that can understand and except then yes one day you will get your chance I'm sure

We are all psychic, but for the majority the gift or the belief has been long knocked out of them. Educated out is another way of looking at it. Many professional psychics have grown up in a psychic friendly environment. Perhaps a grand-parent or parent with the knowledge has helped bring the extra sense out in the open and encouraged its use. But there are as many practicing psychics who have not had the benefit of caring psychic guidance and who have still managed to develop and hone this natural extra sense.

I was born and raised catholic and was scolded for believeing. I live near one of the largest Psychic communities in the US. Lily Dale, NY. I never believed, until I had a reading that was so pinpoint right (names, and such) I am a firm believer, although there are a lot of Frauds. Google LilyDale, NY. Some people are born with this gift, and others choose to develop it.It is possible to become more in tune,but you really need to find a good spiritualist church, where they usually have a circle that you can join, with someone who knows what they are doing.From there you can learn meditation and how to recognise the signs that are sent to you.You really need to learn the art of meditation first, as the mind needs to be clear.good luck.

you should check out 'cold reading' (the ability to 'read' peoples unconscous movements by asking questions and guessing) and other such cons fake psychics can use to convince people they are, before making up your mind. I believe we are all a little psychic though, everyone has perception that is greater than our sences that is subconciously responding to others unnoticable 'tells'
