That's like asking which is a better fruit: apples or oranges.

Excel works with spredsheets. Access works with databases. They don't do any of the same tasks. They are totally diferrent.

You can't really compare them, since Excel is a spreadsheet and Access is a database. It's like asking which is better, Word or Access. They do different things.

If you are asking an apple and orange comparison question, I would recommend Excel to you as it is easier to learn.

It depends whether you want to crunch numbers (Excel) or store and interrogate data (Access). I guess you answer the question yourself once you know what you want to do!
