They shouldn't be much more than 15 pounds. Its probably finished growing by now and isn't going to get bigger.

You know, since my dachshund was about that age he has stayed the same weight.. 11 lbs. He is healthy, happy and eats plenty. I think its better that they stay a healthy weight than get heavier. If he is underweight, you need to take him to the vet. Sometimes it is just a matter of changing foods, other times its something more serious. But if he looks healthy, there shouldn't be a problem. Oh, and little dogs peak a lot sooner than big dogs, just remember it takes less time to become full grown when you only grow to dachshund size!! :) Good luck with your puppy!

I am not an expert on this however I have had a dog before and he may have reached his full size and weight.
The vet would have a chart of what his size and weight.
He may be burning more caloric then he eats.
Is he a health dog or is he not gaining because he is sick

It is vitally important, particularly in dachshunds, that they are kept lean and slim. If they carry too much weight it can cause spinal injuries. As long as he is covered then I wouldn't worry. My dachshund is very slim but very fit and has not suffered any spinal problems. Best to keep your pup active and lean for a long healthy life.
