I am not advocating abortion or not advocating it, i am simply trying to prove that adoption is a lengthy, expensive, and difficult process that leaves a lot of people unable to adopt, as people have honestly answered here.
I like the answer about donating money to orphanages and sponsoring children.
I sponsor a child myself from another country, and if I didn't live below poverty level and could afford it, I'd foster chlildren in my home. Would you, Christian?

My wife and I are parents of an adopted son. We adopted domestically (US). We cannot have biological children and we wanted a family. It is the most expensive, time consuming, aggravating, nerve-wracking, stressful, invasive, joyous and rewarding thing that we have ever done. He will be a year old on Sunday. YAY Adopted Son!
We are considering adopting again. Some days we lean towards yes, some days we lean towards no.
We have several friends and family members who have adopted, both in the US and overseas (Russia).
if anyone has questions I will help as much as I can, e-mail me.

well, we haven't adopted yet because it costs more money to adopt a kid than it does to abort one. So if the government ever figures that one out - you let me know.
But really, finances are keeping us from having a family. No, we can't have kids. We sponsor instead, however, right now - 1 kid in Guatemala, and 2 in the Phillipines. And we give $$ to Feed the Children. If we can't have our own, we'll help out others who need it.

I have never officially adopted any child, but I have never turned anyone down that needed a place to stay. My home has always been open to those in need especially children. Adoption in this country is too difficult. But if we can all help our neighbor (including children) then we can make a difference.

I'm an Atheist but my wife and I are about to begin the process of adopting our first daughter from China. After researching the condition o the orphanages and how many little girls were viewed as useless to the Chinese, it wasn't a hard decision.

And as a secondary question: how many of you donate money or time to clinics that provide for adoption?
Is it better to have a new motorcycle or to help an unwanted child, after all...

Well, since you think abortion would prevent unwanted children, perhaps you would suggest infanticide as a backup. Think of all the money you would save government organizations.
I think it is time you read Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal

I am adopted, and I'm a foster mother. What about you? Just continuing to try to legitimize your abortion stance?
I know of two families who had to go overseas to adopt, because American's usually abort their babies, so there aren't any available here. I know of another woman who waited so long she and her husband finally just gave up, they were over the age limit by then anyway.

Yes, some children are unwanted. Yes, some parents are not fit to be parents. Does that in any way justify killing the unborn children in order to mitigate the inconvenience posed by their unwanted lives upon society? I don't know many people who would say yes...do you?
