Hey. I'm getting a car for my 16th birthday which will be coming up in mid-May. My parent's are buying it for me, and they told me that I can pick any car I want, it just has to be under $10,000. I'm looking for a coupe, and it has to be atleast a 1995, I'm not a fan of older cars. Got any ideas for a good car?

Ford Mustang. I have had three of them over the years and they have all been good cars.

I would suggest a V6 due to insurance cost it being your first car and all.

Also, whatever you decide on finance at least part of the purchase with your parents co-signing, this will establish your credit so once you turn 18 you will not have to worry about not having any credit. That is if you make all your payments as agreed.

I would advise you to buy Japanese. You'll generally get 200,000 miles of good service with much less repair than you would with American cars. After 100,000 miles, American made cars are ready for scrap. I've driven many of both types for over 40 years, and it hurts me to talk bad about our auto industry, but the truth is best. You don't have to go as old as 1995 if you have $10,000. Toyota and Honda both have models close to new for about that amount. Good luck.

Honda Civic or something like that. Its jap so you're gonna get a hell of alot more mileage on the egnine before trouble than say a GM. My grandpa just got rid of his 1987 Honda Civic. He had 280,000km or so. He now has a 2007 Honda Civic and a 2006 Honda CRV

It has to be about what YOU like. You can get a million opinions on here and you're not going to agree with any or all of them.

go to http://www.autotrader.com and search by price. See what comes out and decide.
