Problem with Microsoft Word, can anyone help?

I want to delete a large selection of text from my Microsoft word text. Usually I would just highlight it, then hit delete or backspace but when I do this it does nothing and unselects itself. I tryed pushing the insert key, see if it was that that was making the problem. It wasn't.

Can anyone help me?

Try deleting it in smaller sections. Sometimes if there is a formating character (a font change, margin change, etc) inside of a large section that will cause deleting problems.

The Document maybe protected. check if it's protected and if it is, unprotect it. a password is needed.
