I think we are to be stewards of the earth and all it's living creatures.

...Man was given dominion over the earth by God. I believe we should be good stewards of the earth. I believe we should treat animals well, but hunting must go on. Why? In Virginia, the deer limit is now 4 - there are too many of them, and the only practical way to get the numbers down is to hunt them - and they should be used for food - many needy families could be fed from a large hunt. For those who dislike hunting, consider this: many deer will starve to death in winter, so which is more humane - to hunt them (and practically use the meat) or have them starve to death?
...But understand we are living in a day when a snail darter and an earthworm are viewed by radical environmentalists as equal to humans and perhaps more. These people wield too much power in this country. Gore's Oscar-winning (?) fictional creation has helped to fuel the hysteria about "global warming", which the entire scientific community does not agree upon and it has not been proven. I think the goal of these pursuits is seize power and federal money, and generally tell the average American what he/she can and can't do.)
...Some results of environmental extremism are: slowed or halted progress, road improve-ments are delayed or scrapped, drilling for oil in Alaska and offshore is prevented (to "protect the environment", even if great care is exercised) and the resulting oil we'd get would be beneficial to this country and its security. This is not hokum - think of it - it has been 30 years since an oil refinery has been built in this country, and I believe it must be due in part to the environmentalists.
...Oh, that people had such concern and care for human beings, born, unborn, handicapped, and the elderly, as some do for woodpeckers, snail darters, and whales.

I think there is no god and the earth is our only refuge, so if we blow this, our species is done for, which would prolly be good for the rest of the universe anyway... Its just sad that we will kill all the innocent creatures on this planet when we do.

Truth is, whether or not you believe in god, this is the only planet within human reach that can sustain our species... if you are too self centered to care about this planet because you expect to go to some fairy world in the sky, then i say we just send those people there now and save them the wait.

Okay, i know that was mean but seriously, this planet is amazing and it takes a certain kind of bastard to be willing to destroy it to save them 15$ on circumventing environmental production standards.

Should we listen to Man, or God?

"Make sure of all things; Hold fast to what is fine." 1Th 5:21

That ^ is applied to each individual, Not just leaders of groups. Each One is responsible for the choices & decisions they make.

So ... What does God Himself indicate that He feels about it all?
