Thanks to everyone who has responded, you've all been REALLY helpful...just a side note...I'm 5'4", 160 lbs., pant size ranging from 12/14. I was 135 lbs & in a size 7/9 about 2 years ago, and was really comfortable at that weight. I'd just like to get back to that size/weight! Wish me luck...thanks again!! :)

actually it is safe considering you have six months to lose thirty pound which would be an average of 5 pounds per month.... my best suggestion is drink about a gallon of water a day and dont eat anything after 6:pm water keeps you system clean so if you have a clean working system your body will get healthier and will pass on the bad fats and other toxins you have stored in your body and not eating after 6pm helps because at night your body stores fats instead of burning it like it does during the day.. congrats on your marrige best of wishes

Diets are okay and everything, but they can decrease your metabolism, causing your body to conserve fat. What you really need is some long, slow aerobic exercise. Go for at least 12-15 minutes or more per day of walking, jogging, running, cycling, or some other kind of exercise such as these, and don't stop doing this once you get rid of the weight you want to get rid of. Another thing to keep in mind is that weight really isn’t the problem; fat is the problem. Weight and fat are NOT the same thing. Muscle actually weighs almost 7 times as much as fat. So don’t pay too much attention to your weight; instead pay attention to how thin you look and how good you feel.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

Think of it this way. You need to lose about 1 1/4 pounds per week for 6 months. To lose one pound requires either eating 3000 less calories or burning 3000 more calories or a combination of both.
So each week your body must have 3750 fewer calories than it does now. This is just over 500 calories per day. That is not a lot of calories. Here are some suggestions. Look at your beverages. Most things like juice, beer, alcohol and soda are about 140 calories. Eliminate 3 of those per day and you are down 420 calories.
Most desserts are at least 300 calories. Eliminate desserts each day and you are down another 300. So far you have not even changed your food at all.
The key is to make the change and consider it permanent. Do not think of it as a "diet". Think of it as what the new skinnier you eats each day forever.
Good luck with the wedding.

Ok..be smart and safe about this. Eat right. Fruits and veggies and proteins. Cut out sugars and fats. Cheese, soda and candy have to go. Read labels and find out what works best for your body type. Go to Shape or Fitness .coms and read up. Exercise, even if its only walking for about 30 min a day. Get active. Anyway you can. Your health is vital and you need to view this as a way of life, not a diet. If you want children this is a great way to get started on that healthy path. Good luck and congrats.

Actually yes it is possible. Try joining a spin class at the gym. It is an intense cardio and you feel so good. Just watch what you eat and do the spin class 3-4 days a week. Good luck and Congrats.
I lost 49 pounds in 5 months of doing the spin class 5 days a week.
Oh and the Watermelon thing does work.

Yes you can....

Okay....3,500 calories to burn one pound of fat
You keep a journal of your food intake..I think its highly important for you to see on paper the numbers of what you are taking in.

You buy a calorie counting watch..You take your total intake calories +3,500 add them together and THAT is what you need to burn everyday..to burn one pound.

If you start seeing the numbers I think it will help see that alot of what you might eat..may be uneccesary. You have to remember that your stomach and your intake of food at one meal sitting should be the size of your fist. It doesn't take much food to maintain your health. You can have 5 to 6 servings of healthy food the size of your fits over three regular huge meals. Your body is like a conveyer belt. You need a little at a time to keep everything moving. Good Luck

You can, but the average weight loss is about 1/2 pound a week as long as you excerise and eat/drink healthy.

Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.
