I PICKED UP A FURNACE FROM SOMEBODY ON CRAIGSLIST IN SUNNYVALE CA. I removed the furnace and waited for the owner he never showed up and two other men that were their help me load it then i continued to wait but the owner was a no show. Now this morning a have a sheriff banging on my door from santa cruz county asking me for i.d it so happens that the person who posted on craigs list about the furnace knows the chief of police in sunnyvale so the chief has one of his deputies contact santacruz county sheriff to come to my hou house and collect $75.00 cash for the furnace .I think this ia an abuse of authority by the chief in sunnyvale and a waste of tax dollars when their is more serious crimes going on .I dont understand why the chief went out of his way to collect $75.00 dollars for somebody when now its costing the tax payers more to have a sunnyvale cop drive all the way down here to watsonville to collect money for a friend of his do you think this is an abuse of authority?

Yes I hope he gets in trouble. He should not be doing personal business through the sheriffs dept.

What you did is called stealing.

It's just unfortunate for you that the person you stole from happens to know the Sunnyvale Chief of Public Safety.

Really, it's no different than if they had filed a theft complaint through the department. Either way, you would have had an officer knocking at your door.

Can you prove the owner of the heater got his Police Chief buddy to do this or are you just angry that you didn't get away with stealing the heater. Thats what its called when you take something and don't pay for it you know.
