My chi loves chewing at my carpet where it ends and the tile in my kitchen begins. I bought the spray that keeps them away from it, but i have to respray the area every day and that is quite aggravating. I try to catch him in the act to scold him which works sometimes but he eventually goes back. And let's face it, I cant watch him every second. Any ideas?

Try this, it worked for me! Sprinkle a little bit of cayenne pepper on the carpet area she prefers to nibble on. It isn't cruel, dogs have sensitive noses and she should stay away from it; but in case she does decide to chew anyhow, one bite will be all it takes to make her realize that was a really bad idea.
I also recommend that you walk her every day, either one long walk or two shorter ones. All dogs need exercise or they get bored. Just like little kids, when they are bored they get into mischief! Good luck!

The Bitter Apple spray works well, but yes you must spray it continuously. However, if you want your dog to stop chewing your carpet it is probably worth it. Another thing to try is to put pepper on the edge of the carpet where it chews. Again, you may have to do this daily as well.

Get a pen for your dog and keep him in it when you are not able to be one-on-one with him.

I have a 4ft x 4ft pen set up in my home for my puppy. The bottom is a sheet of plywood that has been painted/sealed with a safe paint. It is slightly bigger than her pen so she can not chew the edges. In her pen is her 'den' (a crate with the door open), a water bowl, and her toys. It is located where she can watch me in the kitchen and also see me in the living room. It is a safe place for her to be when I am busy.
It is like putting a small child in a playpen to play.

Dr. Foster & Smith is the best place to buy from.
They have things that will help with that and more.
I ordered the Pet Safe Bark Buster and it works!

Hope it helps!
