Many girls who are just beginning or about to enter puberty gain weight. This can happen before your growth spurt, or right after it. I went from 5'2" to 5'8" in a year (I was 11 like you) but my weight stayed consistent over that time, meaning I went from normal to fairly underweight. Don't worry about your weight -- it's perfectly healthy and you should feed your body well -- now is a crucial time for it to be nourished. If you start to diet at this early age you can stunt your growth and reduce bone mass.

Although you may have a mild weight issue, you are 11 years old! You are way too young to be overly concerned with your weight. The adolescent body has a tendency to accumulate weight prior to the growth spurt that normally occurs during puberty. For example, although I was slightly over weight when I was 12 years old, I weighed the exact same amount a year later even though I had grown nearly 6 inches during that time frame.

If you are concerned with your weight, talk to your parents or a school dietitian or nurse. The last thing you at your age is advice that you need to "lose weight" from people on this site (whom, for the most part, have no idea what a healthy weight for an 11 year old girl is). Losing weight at your age is OK, but you must do it correctly and in a healthy manner otherwise you risk doing a great deal of physical and emotional damage to yourself.

no not really... it depends on how you hold it... your body type and if you're male or female. for a dude no not at all. for a gal I would say maybe but don't worrie too much cause at 11 you are growing. When I was 11 I was 4' 4" and wieghed about 160. I am now 6' 2" and weigh 200lbs and am really thin...
