I never admit that my questions are jokes.

It's funnier when people get all worked up.

Just because we take the day off and participate is some of the festivities of a holiday does not mean we believe in the myth behind the holiday. Depending on the job there have been times that I have worked Christmas and Easter. Oh yeah, those are the only two religious holidays that the Christians seem to worry about. Come to think of it, I celebrate Christmas with all the pagan symbolism and none of the Christian and I don't celebrate Easter at all. I think your logic is flawed. Maybe you need to sit down and have a nice cup of hot tea.

a million. sure. Very. I grew up Catholic and had to be a clergyman for an prolonged time. whilst i replace into 9 I keep in mind attempting to handle the difficulty of god's omniscience VS guy's loose will. sure, 9. 2. Contradictions and no-one's willingness to quickly confront them. every time human beings would communicate approximately god, i'd hear the equivalent of "there is that this super vast sq.-circle interior the heavens." every time i'd ask something like "a sq.-circle would not make experience... how can something like that exist?" no one would answer me. I certainly have examine many writings of apologetics too, and nonetheless have yet to locate an answer to those questions... as properly, by skill of having a technology diploma I observed the extremely limited wisdom of mankind extra often than not (there is SOOOO lots we don't comprehend), and the actual fact of religious human beings placed me off. rather because of the fact they might verify in aspects the place i replace into of course extra knowledgeable and knew they have been incorrect. it is like they have been fearful of asserting "i don't understand" however the desirable nail interior the coffin replace into George Smith's "The Case against God." That e book in basic terms spoke to me extra advantageous than the different I certainly have examine in the previous or considering that, because of the fact it dealt with the subject concerns on the elementary point. there have been some issues I disagreed with, however the overpowering case against god replace into made for me. 3. it may well be confusing, yet not impossible. besides the fact that i'm organization believer that actuality can not violate the guidelines of excellent judgment, actuality is the desirable arbitrator. So a right away and unequivocal journey of god would do it. Even then, however, there would be a super sort of explaining to do to get me to pass from theory in god's life to worship. there's a super sort of pointless suffering in this international that ought to could be defined by skill of an all-effective deity in the previous they deserve my admire. 4. sure. As somebody else stated, it is principally because of the fact i'd be the only one interior the place of work in any different case. i think of each and all of the religions could conspire to indicate the final 2-3 weeks of December as one vast trip. no one needs to artwork whilst it is that chilly besides. :) good question.

When I lived in Nepal I used to celebrate their Hindu and Buddhists holidays as well. It does not mean I believed in any of their Gods. I just think it's nice to be with friends/family and eat good food.

I'm a commited non believer in a personal God and on that I don't believe I will ever compromise. I'm willing to consider the possibility that there might be some higher power in the universe something akin to the Buddhist cosmic consciousness but without concrete evidence I don't spend much time dwelling on it.

The holiday atheists are the ones who devoutly go to church/temple/mosque most of the year, but then drop out for all of those atheist holidays like "Festivus".

Holidays are fun. Who cares why they are holidays? Seriously I don't care why its a holiday, if I can have fun and be with people I enjoy being with, thats what really matters.
