Congrats on your up and coming graduations, that's a great accomplishment in its own, but if your really interested in the military, depends on what you interests are: If you have any interests in aviation then probably the air force, but rank comes slow, Rank is faster in the Army and Marines, there are several career choices, communications, finance, supply, and some aviation, electronics. Just remember since you will have a B.S. you will go in as a E-4, with possibility of going to OCS. If you like a challenge go with the Army, but if you look past the military, and want something to help you once you get out, then chose the Air Force. Whatever your choice is, don't let the recruiters change your mind, because being a college grad your a special commodity. So don't be afraid to say no to what they offer you, because they have quotas for certain jobs. so be strong. Your a great American. God Bless You..
P.S. I was a recruiter in the Army so what I am saying is as close to the truth as you will get.

Go Army did that...should have went Navy...more jobs that transfer to civilian employment...Air Force...great duty stations and locations...and if you are hard core...go Army or Marines and retire from there because there are not much employment opportunities coming out from either of these branches. But since you are a college graduate, maybe think about being an officer...any of the branches would be fine as an officer! And as far as abuse is concerned, life is full of many a**holes and alot of bulls**t that one must endure that is life, don't use that as a reason for whether to go into the military or not! Good luck!

People that answer these questions are simply amazing! Hey join the Air Force or the Navy, they are easier, more plush! What the heck! If people are so scared to serve they shouldn't join period. I am currently in the Army and have been in for over 9 years now. I am so glad there are people out there like me that are willing to serve and are not afraid of the "consequences" of being in the military. The military is here solely for the defense of the nation and to protect freedom, if you are unwilling to do that then don't do anything, stay at home and shut up.
Now as far as your question, look at all the branches of service, they all offer different things and "perks". then go with what will give you what you want. If you want to be an officer then go to OCS like the others have said, if you just want to go enlisted you'll still come in at a higher rank and they will pay off your college loans as well
Good Luck to you

If you were to enlist I would say the Navy would be your best bet for a chance at some form of technical training that would be transferable to a civilian career with the Air Force or maybe the Coast Guard coming in second.
Though with a college degree, enlisting would be foolish. Officers have more responsibility obviously but they also get treated better after they get their commission and they get paid better as well. As an officer I would probably say the Air Force would be your best bet as a service with the least chance of being hurt as long as you do not become a pilot. The Navy would come in second with the Coast Guard in third place.
You say you don't like abuse, so the military might not be for you. Military indoctrination (in any branch) is not designed to stroke your ego and tell you how special you are. You will get plenty of opportunities but realistically it is up to you to toughen up, mentally as well as physically, learn the lessons your instructors teach you and to prepare yourself to be both led and command. Having had supervisory rolls in the military and in the civilian world, I have to say it isn't as easy as it might seem. Your age isn't an issue, but if you look deep into yourself and decide that living under military discipline isn't for you then you need to choose another career. It will be better for you and the military.

Well I currently serve in the Army.. From my own experience BCT is extremely easy, they make it now to the point where Drill sergeants can't really smoke you.. Everything is cool, you get paid on the 1st and 15th, and get to do a lot of stuff.. Only thing that really sucks the most is the classes here at AIT... But hey you did college so you should be fine!

The Air Force spend more money on Moral and Welfare than any other branch...and they are more relaxed with discipline than the others... I loved the Army, the Air Force was a little to weak for me....

join the navy. the worst they can do is send you on a boat, and terrorists dont have boats or really the technology to launch a missile at a boat. plus you get the best technology experience the military has to offer
