I saw a Romanian lady today selling the big issue. She was cold and could not speak English, just pointed at the price window. But she smiled amid a lot of dull faces rushing by. After buying a copy for £2 (= £1.50 plus a tip), I asked myself ?...why don't we all do the same and let this woman see that she has left her hardships behind at last ? Also the sooner she sells her mags the sooner she gets out of the cold and towards sorting other vital needs out. Yeah ? What's £2 ?? Why do so many walk past ?

I'll have to remember that the next time I see an OAP who has paid into the
system fo 40/50yrs, and finds it hard to make ends meet. I'll explain the fact
that you've just walked past them to make some eastern european's life a
lot easier. I'm sure they will understand that, try to remember that, when your
60 or so and Tommy Tucker from down the road walks straight past you to
give alms to some other s** who has just jumped on the gravy boat.

You could make it you're point to walk through the streets and buy those mags. Beep me when you're done. But, on the other hand, you have a sensitive soul. It will do you good one day.

There are so many worthy charitable organizations seeking donations. I donate to my favourite charity and also contribute food to our local food bank (a Canadian thing).

We must pick and choose, only so much money to go around for most of us.

Because, in this world today," It's All About Me". Not many care about their neighbor any longer. It is sad. It's good to know there are still some of us left. God bless you!.

the majority walk past because they will have seen the same person running to an off licence to buy a can of special brew right after you gave her £2.00. maybe we have all become cynical of charities.
give give give, the cash is sent to africa or some other needy looking place where greedy warlords buy bullets and guns with donated money to fuel their personal wars.
