I have an albino Maine Coon, and since he was a kitten, any time you get your hands around his face or try to play with him, he will end up biting you! It's almost a "love" bite, but sometimes he gets a little too aggressive, I have tried various techniques to try to stop him without any luck. Any suggestions?

All cats bit even when playing, no matter how old they are, just stop playing with him if he gets to rough. My cat does the same thing when she plays and she 6yrs. old and still scratches too.

my cat used to do this. When you play, don't use your hands (as in rough housing) play with a string or something that he can't get to your hands to bite. He may be showing dominance over you. When my cat went to far, i used to put him on my lap, holding him gently by one arm under his head so he can't bite, and the other above his back legs. (he should be on his back) just hold him until he's still, and calms down. Then put him down. This shows you are the boss, without yelling, or hurting him mentally or physically. My cat doesn't bite me anymore.

Maine coon cats are notorious "biters" especially if they are declawed. To give a really good answer we'd have to know the techniques you've tried already.

Not really; but I do know they eventually grow out of it (biting) as ong as you consistently say "ow-wow" and stop play once they bite you. Young Cats don't realize that they are actually hurting you becuase you do not have the fur padding they they have. My cat was stil biting at age 2 and gradually stopped as he grew older and as he realized that I did not ike the biting.

get a spray bottle and fill it with water. everytime the cat comes to bite, spray it a little with the water bottle in the face. after awhile, the cat will get the hint and stop biting you. good luck!

spray "bitter apple" (not to be confused with bitters) on your hands before petting her/him... but besure to wash it off when your done it has an awful taste. you can get this at any petstore in the remedies section.

Blow in his face, cats find this really annoying but it doesn't hurt them.
