Usually the shower is held a month or two before the wedding. For your wedding late May to early July should be fine. You don't want to stress yourself out too much by having the shower and wedding too close together. Allow yourself plenty of time to write your thank you notes for the shower, you don't want to be rushing yourself doing that a week or two before the wedding, when you will have so much else going on. My wedding is in July, and my shower is being thrown in May. I figured that should be enough time to organize the gifts/thank you's and still allow for some relaxation time before the wedding.

I have myn 3 months before the wedding. It gives the guests a break from the money they spend from the bridal shower and the actual wedding.

Usually they are three months before the shower, but no less than one month before, so I would say April at the earliest and the end of June at the latest, but be careful, June is a busy time of year, kids are graduating, Fathers day comes, vacations start etc, I would go with Sometime in May aside from Mothers Day weekend. If you go for June you run a risk of not having too good of a turnout. My cousin is getting Married in July and they have opted for a June shower and I know myself, my in-laws and a few other people wont be able to make it to the shower because of graduations. So be aware of that.

It's SUPPOSE to be about a month before THE day, but that makes me cringe.

What if you end up with 10 coffemakers? Whose elected to return those?
I personally have always given showers, both bridal & baby, about 3 months before the scheduled date. As the day gets closer brides (& mothers) are more nervous, busy, etc. This, to me, gives them ample time to enjoy & plan. I've yet to have a complaint.

I would say no more than a month before the wedding. alot can happen in a months time so I know I wouldnt want to give a gift like 3 months in advance for something. personally I dont evne believe in wedding showers. its like asking for gifts before the event. would you ask for christmas gifts 3 months before christmas? not likely. but if you are going to have one then I suggest a month before the big day.

June. You want to have enough time to buy whatever you are still missing after the shower without it affencting your wedding budget.

anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks before the wedding. and make sure you send out your thank you cards very quickly prior to mailing your wedding invitations.
