It may seem simple to focus on the food and the calories, but the real problem is the bit that most people don't want to focus on - your behaviour.

It's not the fact that you eat cake that makes you fat, it's that you don't know when to stop, how much to eat, and of what. So really it's about self control.

It may sound like a harsh thing to take, that it's down to you, but that also means that you have complete control over the situation. It's is the best thing that could happen - you have the power to change things.

There is one enormous tip for eating that would benefit anyone's self-control, weight, enjoyment of food, and mental stress. When you go to eat something, take a few moments to contemplate how it got to you, who was involved, what was involved. Don't let your food go cold! :) But do take a moment, you have plenty of meals to come and you can think about all the different things at different times.

Secondly, make sure that when you eat you concentrate on eating. There should be little distraction, no TV, no music, no talking. Notice how the food tastes, what it's texture is. Chew it until it becomes liquid (probably around 50 chews) and then when you swallow follow it all the way down to your stomach. Then take your next bite.

Your food will digest better because it's in smaller pieces, the saliva will have started the digestion process more efficiently, both meaning you will get more energy from less food, meaning smaller portions but not feeling hungry. You will have a closer relationship with food and understand more about it's journey from beginning to end - respect for others breeds respect for the self.

Concentration will help ease the mind, and actually noticing what you eat will help you notice it's tastes better. How many people do you know that say "I love food" and then you watch as they pay almost no attention to what they put in their mouth, then barely taste it or chew before swallowing? Is that really love??

Weight watchers is the number one way. Although it's not the fastest way, it is the easiest to maintain. It only costs $12 a month, but they are constantly running specials to make it even cheaper. For one thing, you have to weigh in front of someone, so it makes you really wanna do good. Staying for the meetings is a great way to get extra motivation and great recipes. everyone is there for the same reason and will do anything to help. If you check out their web site i think you'll see that it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle. Plus, you can eat, and eat a lot as long as you follow the simple rules. Hope this was helpful

Have you ever tried Weight Watchers, if not, you should...
Some are turned off by meetings, but it's something good b-cuz you see other people who are there for the same reason...

I was on it, a few months ago & it worked well, I was losing from 1 to 3 lbs. a week (depending on my effort).

I really liked it but had to stop when I got pregnant. I still work out though...

I lost weight by cutting sugar, junk, processed foods, anything with high fructose corn syrup, candy/sweets and replacing these things with complex carbs like whole grains. Eating protein at every meal and a lot of vegetables works. And then walk around the block a few times every night.

If i became into you, i could commence out with issues like ingesting smaller parts (make certain you consume alot of end result and vegatables)... once you're a gamer you may desire to do DDR for excersize. My boyfriend went from 280 to 220 (and he's 6'3" besides) with the help of utilising enjoying DDR on my own and not weight-reduction plan, yet I advise you weight-help plan besides, in the experience that your extreme approximately it. in case you're no longer into issues like DDR, decide for a one or 2 mile walk, then start to jog area of it, and finally you would be waiting to have adequate stamina to jog for some miles an afternoon. walking and walking are great excersize. I desire you success!

Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

ugh....hard question, and we've all struggled with it at one time or another.....

I always set rules for myself.....nothing proven, but they work.

1) no eating after dark (it's when you're least active).
2) always eat breakfast
3) never skip any meal
4) drink at least 8 8oz glasses of water a day
5) walk
