There are too many possibilities. If it was just a small amount of bright red blood in feces, I'd assume that she just had a bit of irritation near the anus. But since you don't even know which end it came out of, that makes things difficult. My honest opinion is that she get to vet now. Look up an emergency vet near you and yes, it's going to cost a bit. Ask if you can do a payment plan if you can't afford the lump sum. It sounds to me like she either ate something she should not have such as poison, a plant of some sort, or a foreign object or that she has parvo. Even dogs that are vaccinated sometimes get parvo so do not rule it out. No matter what is wrong with this dog, you really really really need to find a vet that is open. Try calling all of the vets around you if there isn't an emergency one. Some leave numbers on the answering machine to call after hours if it is an emergency. Good luck. I hope she is okay. Please give us an update when she has seen the vet!
BTW If this dog is not spayed, she could be in heat. Generally dogs only spot drops of blood but some are heavy bleeders and leave puddles behind.

Your jack russell may have some kind of worms, thats what my spaniel mix had. He would have piles of blood/feces and we were worried too. It also maybe be Parvovirus but if you had vaccinations, that probably is not the case. Take him in the morning, hope he is okay. Ps my dog is fine now however, it was a hefty bill so be prepared for that.

regardless of "what end" it came out of, vomiting or defecating blood (especially 5 piles of mainly blood) is an emergency. if vomiting blood, it could be something in the larynx, esophagus, stomach or upper intestinal tract; if defecating blood, it's probably lower intestinal tract or rectum - if i were you, i'd take her to the emergency vet clinic immediately. if she loses enough blood, she could become severely anemic and deathly sick.
i'm a veterinary student, and if i saw that much blood coming from my dog, i would take her in.

it could be her period.
It shouldn't be puddles though it should be spotting.
I would monitor how bad it is and if it gets too bad call the vet. They always have a technician there even if they are closed.

OMG, I'm extremely sorry. Someone on my block had a dog that was peeing, barfing, koffing, and pooing up blood. He had to be put down....he had cancer.
I'm so sorry and I hope your dog will be ok.
I'll pray for you.
