If i am out and about it means I am out running errands and stuff.
If someone asks" What are u doing" My answer " Oh i'm Just out and about"

It means physically active and moving about here and there. "When I am on holiday, I hate to laze on the beach. I like to be out and about in the city, seeing the interesting sights and meeting new people."
