I'm am planning to propose to my girlfriend in Maui in the begining of April, and was looking for ideas of places. Could be a picturesque setting, or on a boat,or any other ideas and specifics would be appreciated.

I say that you get an Islander to pretend that they are part of a treasure hunting group tour. Tell your fiancé that you thought it would be great to do it so you signed you both up. Before you all go out on your "Hunt", bury a miniature treasure box in the sand or somewhere where you can remember. Have 2 fake maps drawn up- giving her the directions to the place where you buried the ring, with you keeping the fake one.

When she digs up the “treasure”, she will first be really excited that she found something. Run over and pretend like you have no idea what is in the box. When she opens it she will be freaking out so when she looks up at you, get down on your knee and tell her that she is the only treasure that you will ever need in your life and will she do you the honor of marrying you. Throw in a couple of other one liners about how she is a diamond etc. She will say yes!

Have it set up so that you can her can dine right on the beach. She will remember it for the rest of her life!!

Go to Hana. Its a beutiful area that is not very populated so you will be most likely to get some privacay. Their is a wonderful black sand beach that you can bring her too as well as the red sand beach. Take time to stop at the waterfalls along hana highway. There are some expecially magnificant ones, maybe even propose to her under on of the water falls.

Ok, this will not answer your question, But if I got proposed to in MAUI, I think I would def. say yes no matter of the setting!

Actually, the setting for some may be different for others. I think you should think of something she absolutely loves. For example, she may love something as small as a romantic dinner of just you two where you cook, and nothing else would make her as happy.
Just think of HER LIKES!

This is very SWEET! Good Luck! : )

i dont know maui, but i got engaged on oahau in 2004. we were camping on the beach with some friends, and went on a walk in the moonlight. and my hubby asked me to marry him. it was very romantic!!! maybe a beach or nice resturaunt. if your planning on going on any of thoes excursions type things, then you could somehow incorporate the proposal into that. good luck!!

Lucky girl!

What about this.... have a picnic basket and have a romantic picnic for two on the beach,. have some champagne and walk hand in hand by the ocean.

Then.... pretend that you are picking up a shell from the sand (you already have it in your pocket) place the ring inside a pretty shell and tell hetr to open it and see what's inside.... then she will see the ring inside...of course you would be on tyour knees on the sand.....awwwwww

Congratulations and good luck
