---we do not currently suffer from a government
led by madmen named Bush and Cheney.
---we as yet do not suffer from suffering influence of ecumenical, fundamentalist Christian wackos. We still believe in science here.

short form answer, Canada is:

- more liberal
- more multicultural and accepting of diversity (gays, muslims, immigrants, etc)
- less gun violence
- bigger social safety net (welfare and healthcare are avail to ALL Canadians - regardless of status or income)
- We were then and are now opposed to the invasion of Iraq
- smaller percentage of incarceration per capita
- drug addiciton is considered more of a health issue than a crime issue (we have no "War on Drugs")
- smaller economy
- more spread out geographically
- higher taxes
- things are generally more expensive here
- an abundance of natural resources
