While waiting for a job interview, you ask the receptionist “where are the restrooms”? While washing your hands, you notice one of the stall doors open. As the man exits, you observe two things: (1) whatever he ate did not agree with him and (2) he didn’t wash his hands. As you leave the restroom, you see the man talking to the receptionist – as you approach, she introduces you to him as the person you are to interview with. He then reaches his hand out to shake yours… what do you do? (True story)

Sorry I had to have a bit of a chuckle before answering...hey don't get me wrong, I do believe that this is a true story...

Good jobs are hard to come by...I would shake the man's pooh hand and once that interview was over, I would walk quickly to the restroom and wash both hands thoroughly!!!

That is totally disgusting but at the same time what are the odds of him actually having visible feces on his hand(s)? If i wanted the job bad enough and it wasn't somewhere like McDonald's I would have hung in and just shook his hand. As soon as the interview was done I would BE SURE to wash my hands. Then again why would the boss want to even shake your hand if he knew he just cleared his system out, wiped, and didn't wash!!!! VERY CONFUSING AND VERY WEIRD!

If he is the one interviewing you, shake his hand, but then wash it like crazy later.

You want the job? Shake his hand. You can always wash your hand later.

I would smile and say hello and act like I needed to put my keys or something in my pocket. Or if I had my resume' at hand, i would hand it to him instead of my hand. Or I would say I have a bad cold and I don't want to give it to you.

well its very unprofessional not to shake a persons hand, i probably would have shook his hand than excused myself and went to wash my hands again, that's why i always carry around a liquid sanitizer and i use it often.
