I was prescribed Xanax but I am a coffee drinker. I drink a large cup of coffee a day. Will it be ok to continue drinking coffee or, because I am on Xanax, will i have to stop? Is it dangerous to mix xanax with coffee? Any info would be appreciated

It may make your heart dance.Feel like you may pass out.Break out into a sweet. Go slow..Dont take the xanax till you had your morning coffee ( wait about 2 hours after dreanking )..Then again it may not bother you at all..Better safe than sorry...Right!

I would cut back on the coffee. I'm not a doctor but i used to take xanax for panic attacks and my doc told me to cut back on the coffee(no more then 8oz a day) Drinking allot of caffeine and taking downers is like "speed balling"
Good luck and just a little warning from personal experience: be Very careful with the xanax.. it's addicting and soooo bad for your liver.

Xanax and coffee are opposites...Xanax will calm you down and coffee, assuming with caffeine, will get you worked up...Ask your doctor if there is harm in drinking coffee...but, if he didn't specifically mention no coffee, it's most likely OK...Also, check your Xanax bottle...Sometimes if there is a warning about drinking or eating something, it is on the label...

if you are taking xanax for a nervous disorder, you shouldnt of been drinking caffiene to begin with. caffiene makes a panic disorder or anxiety disorder worse. if you cut out all caffiene, chances are your anxiety disorder would improve on it's own.

i would never prescribe xanax to anyone unless severe trauma as it is addicting and a depressant! i would check to see why you are having an issue to begin with. sometimes in panic disorders, the liver is involved. it could be damaged, thus, the flitering process is slowed. drinking caffiene with liver damage can cause a buildup of caffiene setting off panic attacks or anxiety!

good luck!
