has anyone ever gotten married on a beach if so what was it like?

My friends got married on the beach, it was beautiful, just at sunset in Mexico but before the ceremony it poured cats and dogs for like 10 min and then cleared up for the ceremony and then started to rain again.

I went to a beach wedding, and because I live in California, I've seen quite a few in progress. The one thing I noticed is that few couples provide chairs, so people end up just standing there and it looks like they're uncomfortable. I think you'd want to keep the reception very casual, because if people (esp women) have been on the beach in the salty air, their hair gets mussed, and they'll have taken off their shoes to walk across the sand.

Honest, Sounds romantic, but as the bride, you MUST consider the high wind, the sand and the fizzy hair...
Maybe you should have a cozy wedding then have the receiption at the beach...lots of activities ...etc..

I saw it done on a wedding show once. It looked neat, everything was casual and they were barefoot. The bride actually wore a bathing suit with a sarong. Her Mother was horrified!
