Me and my boyfriend have got a kitten. She is now 13 weeks. She seems to be extremly affectionate, not that we are complaining. When me or my boyfriend go into the bathroom she sits outside waiting and if you shut the door she starts meowing. When we are asleep she seems to get excited and comes and sleeps near our head. My boyfriend woke up to her sleeping under the covers between his legs and last night she was sleeping with her head on my shoulder. A couple of times i have woken up to her mimiking drinking her mothers milk doing the purring, licking and needing thing on my top leaving it damp. She always purrs when we are asleep too. When we look at her or speak to her she comes bouncing (she actually bounces) over to us purrs and then rubs her face on ours. Everytime we feed her, without failure she comes up to us purrs and it seems like she is saying "thank you" Just wondering if this is normal behaviour and whether anyone else has had this with their kitten?! Many thanks.

Also she didnt get taken away from her mother too early as i thought that that may be the reason but we got her at 8 weeks.

It's not unusual for a kitten to be affectionate. Enjoy it ,while she still is wantingto be around you. Many cats grow out of that although I have known some to carry into adulthood. My husband and I have the most unaffectionate cat on earth. She is 2 and only comes around when she wants something, unless you're in the restroom and then she'll open the door and stay till you leave.
You could try getting her a stuffed cat to see if she would transfer the nursing to it.Hope this helps.

She's just showing you that she loves you. I have 2 kittens and they both do the same thing. My fiance and I use the bathroom without one or both of them in there. My 6 month old kitty will come up and lay down accross my neck. He will also greet you at the door when you come home. As soon as I walk into my house he follows me around everywhere. My 3 month old is a little more laid back. He will jump on you when you are sleeping and fall fast asleep laying across my stomach. The youngest one is the one that will Pounce to you when you call his name or have a toy that he wants to play with. When I give them their wet food for the day, they pounce on my feet until I put the plate on the floor.

It just sounds like your are taking very good care of your cat. I have 2 cats and they will sit outside the bathroom door for me and wait until I'm done and then rub against me. If I don't close the door all the way, they will actually come in the bathroom and rub against my legs. They too like to sleep between my legs under the covers when I'm in bed. My cats seem happy, so I'm sure yours is too!

I am assuming you got the kitten at a very early age. A mother cat will snuggle her babies, i.e., licking the faces of her young. It is entirely possible that this kitten of yours is just mimicking what it had already learned and is treating you as it's mother. I have a cat like this and it's kinda sweet. But yes, it is pretty normal especially if it's an only cat.

whats up, I absolutely have 5 kittens...4 are 8 months previous and a million is 4 months. they're all very very affectionate...and were from day a million. i imagine that a cat will provide affection if it receives affection. in the journey that they comprehend they could trust you and that you adore them, they're going to go back that. wish this helps.

Hi, She must really love you, you are her family. She just likes being near you. I have a cat that does this he is now 10 if i go to the bathroom he has to come as well and if i lock him out he screams, when he was little like your cat i always made sure the toilet seat was down because i was frightened of him falling in. Your cat must be so content, it's an oral fixation when they mimick drinking their mothers milk perhaps she didn't get her fair share because of her other siblings. Enjoy her she sounds like a lovely little kitty.

My two minis are like this, 1 boy and 1 girl, just enjoy it once she grows a little and gets out and about she'll give you less attention. My cats are nearly 2 now and still sleep in the bathroom when I'm in the bath and love snuggles once we're out of bath or shower. The girl always used to sleep on my pillow and the boy between my legs but now they only do it when it's cold. Though my mum's cat who lived with me when she was a kitten will still sleep on me or my sister's chest under the covers with her head in our hair when we visit. It's really all about them!

aww thats so sweet she obviously loves u both very much make the most of it they usually grow out of it and become less affectionate but if she's like that now she might be like it for a long time and i would love a cat like that, mine sleep with me on the bed but they rarely sit on my lap the 1 that was very loving died 2 years ago he loved being wrapped up in a blanket and cuddled like a baby, also my younest cat likes to come to the bathroom lol he sits on the washing basket and headbutts me when im on the loo, and when my sis in law visited he got upset cos he couldnt go in with her he will actually come and call u and lead u in there! The other 2 lead me to the door and wait for me to lift the cat flap!

She sounds like a lovely kitten. I have a kitten who is now 9 months old and is still doing exactly the same but head butting as well. Apparently its a thing that they eventually grow out of so the vet said.

I guess we just have to enjoy the attention.
