In this country Anti-discrimination laws ONLY protect minorities, people over 40, and women.. If you are christian, white, heterosexual, english speaking, male, under 40 or any combination of those, it is perfectly legal for people to prejudge, discriminate, or public insult you. Yes, all of the above applies to me so I've been discriminated against based on my age, gender, and sexual orientation and there's nothing I can do about it.

I don't think people feel it is "safe" to insult Christians. I am a christian (catholic) and what I see is people just disagreeing with the religion (I do on quite a few things too). Real "bible-bangers" think this is insulting God and them, when really it isn't. It's someones opinion, which they are entitled to. If you, as a christian, think these people are evil and are going to hell, then let them. Not everyone wants an opinion told to them.
I also see "uneducated" people insulting Christianity. They don't know the entire subject of what they are speaking about and are usually very rude about it. Example - Christians stole Christmas from pagans. Actually, it was not stolen from pagans. The church was against paganism and did not want its people celebrating this holiday, so they designated Christs birthday to be celebrated around the same time (same thing with All Saints Day, Nov 1st), so people could only celebrate one. It was the people who took the parts from paganism they liked celebrating and merged it with their christian traditions. Most priests will tell you this, if you ask.
Bottom line, who cares? People are too whiny and are offended too easily. A saying from when I was a kid that people may need to start listening to - stick and stones will break my bones, but words can never hurt me.

Well because unlike Islam and Judaism, Christianity does not have a specific culture.
Both muslims and jews have codes for eating, dressing up, and other things that make them an integral part of the members lives.
Christianity however, is easier to insult because it doesnt look like youre insulting anyones culture but just their thoughts about God in general.
I dont think insulting is justified in either case.

Yeah right... It seems socially acceptable (especially in Christian circles) to insult and make fun of Muslims or Pagans for example. The only difference is that you Christians cry persecution all the time when you are not actually being persecuted, just someone disagreeing with you or not wanting you to force your religion on them. One of these days you might end up like the little boy who cried wolf.

As a true Christian and true believer of Christ, we live by His example to forgive and to endure the insults in doing good things in Gods name.

I’m sorry you feel this way, but your feeling is not based in truth. First, people of many religions have been insulted here, and many religion’s beliefs have been held up to ridicule. I’m going to guess that your feeling is based on selective reading.
BTW, note to taskr36: You are absolutely incorrect.
Hate Crime definitions apply to hate-motivated crimes against white people, males, young people, etc.

You say "insult". Others would say "expose". Christianity is very arrogant, thinking itself above reproach, and thinking itself to be the authority and guardian of the absolute truth. In this conceit, Christians condemn, criticize, ridicule and berate all other spiritual concepts. When challenged, you then claim that it is you who are insulted.
It is "safe", because you are easily defeated.

It's sad that you truly believe the lies you have been spoon fed.
But I guess feeling persecuted makes you feel like your truly doing "The work of the Lord".
