If it lines up with the truth of the bible.
The word is truth John 17:17
Religion and traditions that don't line up with God's word prove only that man has his hand in it more than God.

When we deviate from what the bible says then we fall into error.

That's a great question. What kind of proof are you looking for? Indisputabe, undeniable, unquestionable proof? How does one prove he loves his wife or girlfriend? We know what words can mean sometimes? Gifts can be given with wrong motives or to cover up bad deeds. The true church is the body of Christ for which He died and rose again. Jesus called the Head of the church and Shepherd of His sheep. The question revolves around the person of Jesus. Was Jesus a liar, a lunatick, or Lord of heaven and earth? The Bible in general and the gospels in particular openly reveal the sins of the greatest of saints. So the claim the Bible covers up sin because of an agenda is incorrect. The resurrection of Jesus is undeniable proof that He was without sin and His death was a Savior's death, not the death of a martyr. The gospels pass all the tests of authenticity: literary style, internal consistency, manuscript and archaeological evidence. The Bible's fulfilled prophecies prove it can be trusted as it claims to be revelation from God and not the product of man. Any church that confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and that men and women can be pronounced righteous because of the work of Christ alone is of God.

All paths can lead back to the Creator. In choosing there is only one test - do the teachings radiate the Love of the Creator?

Any teachings that instill fear are not reflecting the true Creator. Any teachings that require an intermediary to find God are seeking to control and not teaching truth. Any teachings that put any portion of creation above any other portion are leading you away from the Love of God.

All is One. All are equal. God is pure Love.

There are a number of ways although none would be considered a scientific proof. But the things we can look at are:

1. By their fruits ye shall know them. Look at the things the religion teaches and compare that to the things you generally observe in those who profess that religion.

2. James taught that if we lack wisdom we ought to ask God who gives back liberally to all. Jesus taught "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." If we pray and are sincere and honest in our prayers, He will lead us in the right path. For the Holy Ghost testifies of all truth.

By seeing if they teach the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book.

By the church doctrine not needing "another book" to defend their belief system.

That what God tells you in your own personal Bible study jives with what you learn at the church in question. God always confirms and repeats important points of truth.

...if they respect the Bible and the Ten Commandments. Some people's religions commit the sin of idolatry by praying to statues and things like that. There shouldn't be any graven images or statues representing Jesus or any of the saints.
