Autumn is all about rich, bold colors. If you plan a wedding during the harvest months, you'll want to incorporate some of the season's natural hues.
When planning a fall wedding, think of nature to conjure up a color palette. Pick up a fallen leaf. You might see a combination of burnt orange, buttery gold and yellow-green. The next leaf may be a mix of dark brown and fiery red. As a rule, colors that are found combined in nature will work combined for your fall wedding color scheme.
Terra cotta is another beautiful color from autumn's palette. Combine it with yellows, copper and ivory.
Deep red, a color of the season, has a romantic tone as well. Combine it with lavender, burgundy and other colors between red and purple on the color wheel.
Blue is in high style right now, and deep shades such as navy, cobalt, blue-black and sapphire are wonderful for autumn.

We were married in October as well. Our colors were wine/burgundy and gold. But there are a lot of colors that would work (shades of orange, bronze, reds, browns, etc.). Just think of all the beautiful colors of fall trees or cornucopia centerpieces.

I'm getting married in Sept. & I picked out wine for the dresses, which is perfect for fall. Lots of fall colors coincide with that color. Good Luck!!

I am getting married Sept. 22nd and my colors are chocolate brown and ivory with the flowers being reds, oranges, yellows. I thought about using some gold to accent. I just love fall colors. Good luck!

I got married in October and we did really dark purple dresses with yellow, orange, and purple flowers. There were also fall leaves (fake) in the bouquets. I think it turned out well. :) We got lots of compliments on the colors.
Oh, and just because I loved how they turned out, I'll give you an idea for centerpieces as well. ;) We used hollowed out pumpkins as vases and had the same color flowers as the bouquets. And we had the little mini pumpkins hollowed out with tea lights in them around the cake.

You did not specify what kind of gold. I think aqua would look good with gold. It is a strong color without overpowering anything. Another good color is burnt orange since it is autumn. Lastly the deepest color I can think of that looks good with gold is navy. may God bless your wedding and may all your troubles be little ones.

I like burnt orange. its a really pretty colour and would go nice with gold. green or red would look too much like Christmas mixed with the gold so I would try to avoid those colours. brown is nice, but then if the guys wear black it looks really odd.

Why not talk to your bridesmaids too - they may feel horrible in one colour, but great in another - a lot depends in their colouring - I mean you would not want a red-headed bridesmaid wearing orange or red would you!!
Good luck and have a wonderful day!
