Are the colors you use for the reception supposed to be the same colors used for the bridesmaid dresses?

so many great suggestions...i like the idea of chocolate brown and creams...what kinds of CHEAP centerpieces would work for this? and what kinds of flowers for the bouquets?

Your wedding colors should be what ever you want them to be! If you are concerned about coordinating with the colors at the reception hall pale shades of pink or sage are complementary (especially for spring?) If you want a very classic and timeless look Black is always stellar! You can have your bridesmaids each carry a different color boutique if you want splash-in some color..if you do something like that I would suggest the flowers be placed in a gold mussy-tussy or wrapped in black ribbon to unify them... or you can always go with Burgundy and gold! It really is up to you , best of luck..and remember to have fun while planning!! :)

I agree with the bold colors for a Burgundy and gold room. The emerald green sounds different and could be nice. Champagne is always good, too. Take swatches of the colors to the hall and look at them to make the best choice.

Stay away from pastel and true red (really clashes with burgandy). Go with bold colors that will stand out against the burgandy...black, dark blue, dark green, or ivory. I would keep the same color scheme going throughout the wedding and reception. Tall candlesticks in black, gold, or glass stands would look nice as centerpieces. Mirrors with dark colored fat candles would also look nice especially with fake gemstones scattered around in equally deep (not necesarily the same) colors.

well I'd stay away from pastels if the room is burgundy & gold. Creams perhaps. Rose color.

I think white and red would look really nice with a burgundy and gold backround. Or with beige.
Good luck!
