Obedience classes. They teach you how to train your dog. They will teach you so much more than sit & stay.

You need to be consistant, with every type of training, I would hold a treat in your hand and command the dog to stay , take a few steps and then if the dog stayed give them a treat, "reward" program worked well with my 2 dogs, but they're lil fatties, you have to get treats that are healthy for your dog, rawhides, etc. Come command is pretty simple"usually" with an upbeat voice say "come" with the treat in hand again, if the dog comes "reward" them

First teach him to sit and once he is proficient on that command stay and wait a few soconds then reward him with his favorite toy and praise. Gradually work your way away from your puppy by taking one step at a time away from him. Make sure he is doing very well at each distance before you progress. Then to get him to come make a command such as "come" or "here" and make him come to you for the reward.

The easiest way is to enroll in obedience class with your dog. The class will teach all the basics as well as aid in doggie socialization skills. Good luck...Google "Nothing In Life Free" canine training. This is a positive training method you can start at home

Sign up for an obedience class. They have all levels at your local Petsmart (if you don't have a Petsmart, search for local obedience schools). We touched on both of those in the puppy/beginner class and now we're adding distractions in the intermediate level. Our biggest goal is to have him come when called and actually ignore a sock on the ground. He'll pass toys/food but he can't resist socks!
