I recently got married. Yes, saying these words make a huge difference. Doing loving things is the foundation of any relationship, but what you percieve as a proof of love may not be percieved by your beloved in the same way. Also, Hearing is as important a sense as touch, sight, taste, and smell. Your words go to the persons brain and directly inform that person that they have a lover. The brain can then reinforce this with any sweet smelling colorful flowers given, or aromatic delicious food, or gentle romantic embrace. The words play a very important role. They can be very powerful, as long as the loving acts are there to back them up. But, saying them all the time may take the powerful impact out of them. And you must be ready to reply to the unexpected "why do you love me?"

It's important only if it's meant. Nowadays, if I hear it I don't buy it because everyone uses those words like it'll disappear if they don't say it at the very beginning. Showing is 10 times better then saying but it's not to hear it as well. Like the saying goes action speaks louder then words.

It's important that you mean it when you say it. To throw words out is pointless and hurtful. If you do mean it then I think it's important to hear but more important that you show someone you love them.

Both are important, to do things that show that you love the person and to say it when you really feel like it. That way it comes from your heart and true feelings and makes the person feel special.

No, i don't think so. I don't love is something that can be put into words. I think it's only genuine when shown, or done, not said.
Anyone can say those three words. Not everyone can show that they feel them.

It's just as important to say as it is to "show" by doing things.

Showing it is much more important than saying it.
BUT, most of us are insecure in one way or another, so hearing it/saying it once in a while is nice too.

It's nice to hear "I love you" but it is ten times better to actually been shown and feel loved.
