What you are thinking of is a chapel. There is a beautiful chapel in Waterford where I had my niece get her graduation pictures taken called the Victorian Wedding Chapel. It partners with Fox Portrait Studios (who did my niece's graduation pictures) as well if you would like photography at a reasonable price. They have both indoor and outdoor area (with view of the lake) for ceremonies.

Also don't rule out the base chapel at Selfridge. My husband's in the military so I've been there. It is very nice and affordable. Plus you can have your reception at the Vandenberg Conference Center where you can reserve a room or banquet hall for a reception. The catering is very reasonable as well. This link has some pictures of the chapel: http://www.specialmomentsusa.com/gallery_search.asp

I know of a Chapel in Howell called the All Saints Angelical Chapel and one in Fowlerville which is The Historic Village Chapel. Both really small and cute. I think it is even faster if you go to the court house and have a justice of the peace marry you; its cheaper too.

I don't know about MI, but in California, you can get your marriage license and have the ceremony performed at the same time just by going to the Department of Vital Records. A justice of the peace is a typical option for those who can't or don't want to plan a big wedding.

I think you're referring to a Justice of the Peace, or a Civil Ceremony. Call your local Circuit Court and inquire of the clerk. You should be able to get your marriage license for a nominal fee and be married within a short period of time (that varies from state to state). You'll probably each need a witness.

If you want a church wedding, go to your local church and ask what the procedure is in your situation. Usually a church will want to you wait 6 months, but in your situation they will often make exceptions. A JP wedding only requires the legal docs (license, etc), which can probably also be expedited in your case: call the people at city hall and ask them about it!

FYI-they will usually only expedite the wedding if one party is about to be shipped overseas or is gravely ill, or if a parent is gravely ill.

I hope no one is gravely ill, and I wish you the best and much happiness together!

Do a civil marriage at the courthouse... in Maryland, you have to apply for the marriage license at least 24 hours before you actually get married. You can find information on marriage licenses on you state website.

A judge, a mayor, a local JP (jusitice of the peace officer) anybody like that can marry you both. Then when you have time celebrate it with everybody. PS don't forget your marriage liscense.
