I believe that spaces precede letters alphabetically, so air ways would come before airline. However, I would spell airways as one word, particularly in the names of airlines.

Based on all the disagreement here, I'd say you have a good question. Here's the answer:
Spaces don't count (although 'airway' is one word, BTW:-)
Thus, 'iceberg' comes before 'ice cream', for example.
