Toyota Corolla hands down. Toyota has established a name for themselves as one of the most reliable, quality, and greatest money value in the country. Hyundai has given themselves a bad reputation for cheap cars that you end up spending more on to fix than it's worth. Some people will try to tell you the Hyundais aren't bad cars anymore, but, only recently they've started getting better. That means that no one knows how good they are long-term. They only know they're good short-term cars. Stick to Toyota. At least you'll know it's a good car without risking it.

toyota right under lexus is the highest quality car manufacturer in the world and toyota owns lexus. As long as its not too old, the sonata is a pretty decent car too. If they're similar price, go for the yota.

Corolla. It has supreme quality and feel with high resale value and great fuel economy. The car performs great for a compact car with comfortable interior.

I can't speak for the sonata but I can't imagine anything being better than my corolla.
