Are Brazilian Jujitsu organizations under one belt ranking system?
Does Judo have a Jujitsu ranking system?
Can someone who practices MMA and knows alot of submission grappling come to a Jujitsu school and be tested for an appropriate rank? I don't even even know for example if Randy Couture has any training in Jujitsu but if he went to a brazilian jujitsu school would he automatically be promoted to black belt?

The jiu jitsu ranking system is based on the judo rankings system which you can find at :

www.judoinfo.com

In Brazillian Jiu Jitsu usually there are two schools the Gracie System and the Machado System. Gracie being the original system in Brazil and the Machado system being Gracies cousins.
Even if a MMA fighter went to one of these schools he wouldnt be a black belt. It usually takes 7 years in a system to reach that degree. Unlike Judo you cant go to competition and reach your way to black belt.
MMA fighter usually have a coach who teaches them in jiu jitsu so they might award them a rank. Also Brazillian schools dont recognize Japanese belts so if a Japanese black belt went to Brazil he would be a white belt.
I am a black belt in Shekingun Jiu Jitsu which is a Japanese system.

from what I understand of bjj belts you need to be awarded one by a minimum of purple- I believe at purple belt you are allowed to teach.

I'm not familiar if there are major ranking organizations, however unlike other styles, black belts can be tracked and verified as to who gave it to you. It is a VERY big thing to achieve a black belt in bjj as opposed to other arts.

I would very much doubt a pro mma fighter could walk into a bjj gym and "recieve" a ranking.

bjj students are generally graded, not only on how they can apply techniques, but how they also apply a variety of techniques continuously.

any "outsider" would not just be given a belt because they can fight, they would only deserve a ranking if they would qualify for it by using that system's techniques. even then a school would likely start them out at white belt but give them the chance to either "jump" at the next testing if they deserve it (or for many arts even if they do not deserve it) or possibly give them some "expidited" situation. depends on the formality and size of the school.
