The CDs have capacity of 700MB only and the movies are more than that. Therefore it is not getting saved on the CDs even after compression. Is there some ways to do that?

If you dont mind investing in a program its easy. Nero will convert your video to fit on a cd, I can put a whole dvd on a cd in vcd format.
It automatically compresses the video, awesome program.....

There are programmes like Window movie maker or Pinnacle studio to edit video files. U can cut it in several parts and save each part as separate video file. U will be able to get rid of unwanted portion of movie and size too will be reduced. Then burn it to CD.

This can easily be done using the video cutting software. The software is available in the market and easy to use. You simply have to mark the points from where you want to cut your movie till another mark.
