I live in Kansas City and on the map it looks like in the middle of the U.S.

No it isn't. It is Lebanon, KS which is located in north-central Kansas.

While we are not the direct center of the United States, the geographic middle of both the entire US and of the contiguous 48 states lies in Kansas.
However, KC is considered the heart of america. Be proud to live here!

I lived in kansas city for a long time, boy did it suck! It's not called the heartland aka midwest fornothing, yes its pretty much in the middle
