This works for all types of rice:
Add 1-2 tablespoons of water (preferably hot) to the container (if microwaveable). Cover, making sure you leave a small vent for steam to escape, and microwave for 3-5 minutes. Let the rice rest for like 30 seconds as the rice will be reaaaaalllllyyyy hot. Fluff up with a fork and you're ready to go!!!

Yeah, it might be because of the brand. Usually basmati and jasmine don't get as dry. Also, maybe your rice are to dry, they might not be tender enough and that could cause the rockiness. If you're not washing the rice good enough before cooking, the excess starch from the rice grains will cause the rockiness. And if you want to, you can add a little bit of oil (less than teaspoon for every cup of cooked rice) to the rice immediately after its cooked while it's still hot, and mix the rice. it should help.

Using a spray bottle with cold water, spray the rice and stir with spoon or hand, microwave for a few seconds, stir, and microwave some more.

I would say just add a tiny bit of water and then stie it up and pop in in the microwave for like 30 seconds or so and keep doing that until it is perfect.

Add a couple TB of water and mirowave 3 minutes or so.
Make sure you have it partially covered with a lid just barely opened to vent.

That's not an easy thing to do, but try adding a little bit of water to it, then pop it in the microwave covered for a minute.

This will even work for Minute Rice! soak a paper towel in water and wring it out slightly so it's not dripping everywhere. Put it over the bowl as you microwave it to heat it. It acts like a steamer and it won't leave water in the bottom of the bowl!
