I have a GED. I want to know if I can become a Navy SEAL if I pass all the qualifications. And if so what age. I think its 17 with High School Diploma and 19 with GED, but that is for the Navy in general. So can someone please help. I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't know the answer to this, but your questions raises one of my own.

Did you get your GED to leave school early or did you drop out and get your GED later. Either way that really doesn't exhibit the qualities the SEALs are looking for. If you left early you quit and took the easy road out. If you left school and then got your GED you still quit. SEALs are not about quitting at all.

Good luck to you and I hope if its what you really want you can make it happen, but take a long hard look at your motivation before you subject yourself to it.

You asked a question and deserve an honest answer. This answer will make you angry and if it does maybe you can use that to reach your goal.

It's hard enough to join with a GED in the first place. Seal? Heres the thing..... it requires intelligence, education and adaptabilty as these are number one. You have already proven that you cannot stick to just high school much less BUDS.

You might make it if you work for a very long time and then probably not. That is the shame that a silly decision made when young can effect your whole life. But again you may get there if you devote EVERYTHING to it.

If you can than finish your diploma but I had a GED and was finishing the diploma and theysaid theyr going to still look at it like a GED. If you get 15 college credits your schared away as equal to a high school grad. I would suggest taking a semester of college so there are no questions when you sign up. its good prep for the asvab as well.

During the enlistment process you will be required to take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). Your scores on these tests determine the rates for which you are eligible. You must score well enough to qualify for the SEAL program, as well as the SEAL source rate ("A" School) of your choice.

Your recruiter can arrange for you to take a pre-ASVAB test. The pre-ASVAB will identify weaknesses in your performance and enable you to undertake remedial work, if necessary. In addition, several books are available to help you prepare for the ASVAB test. Check your high school or public library, or your local book store. Alternatively, use one of the popular web search engines and search on the following string: "armed services vocational aptitude battery."

The ASVAB is broken down into several categories. To be eligible for BUD/S or SWCC School, your minimum requirements are:

SEAL - GS+MC+EI=165 VE+MK+MC+CS=220

SWCC - AR+WK=104, MC=50 (For ASVAB 5, 6, and 7; use WK score)(For ASVAB 8, 9, and 10; use VE score)

Take this test seriously and study for it. If you score lower, then those lower scores will stand, so study.

The ASVAB is a series of 10 mini tests maintained by the Department of Defense. The ASVAB is made up of tests in the following subject areas:

Word Knowledge
Paragraph Comprehension
Mathematics Knowledge
Arithmetic Reasoning
General Science
Auto and Shop Information
Mechanical Comprehension
Electronics Information
Numerical Operations
Coding Speed
Upon completing the tests, you'll receive a composite score as well as scores for each of the ten sections. These scores are used to determine the position you are best qualified for.

If you have not enlisted yet you may retake the ASVAB several times. If you take the ASVAB and score high enough to enlist but not high enough to sign up under the SEAL Challenge Contract (see: waivers), study hard and plan to retake the ASVAB. Inform your recruiter that you are serious about doing well on the ASVAB, so you will qualify for the SEAL Challenge Contract.

Download and read SEAL ASVAB Requirements for more information on requirements, qualifying scores, and application instructions.

Yes you can and your information is correct. There is no difference in qualifications on ASVAB and GED between Seals and Navy! You just have to make it through their BUDS program once ini! Good Luck!

you must be 18, score at least a 50 on the ASVAB and require no waivers to even be considered for Navy enlistment. and getting a BUD/S contract is even tougher.

All you can do is check with arecruiter.. the Navy takes VERY few GED holders each year period. and even fewer get a shot at BUD/S.. even witha HS diploma.

Sure, IF you pass basic, pass your AIT/Ratings school, pass the screening to try out for SEALs, and then pass all the required courses/instruction to become a SEAL

You can join the navy with a GED. After boot camp you have to be chosen to apply. It is very select group. you have to prove yourself to your commanding officers first they give you recommendations.

You would have to be someone gifted with a fairly high IQ, because someone slow in the upstairs dept. [brains] isn't going to cut it.
