that claims to have found the body of Jesus and his family? As a Christian raised by a pastor, I want to know the TRUTH about Jesus. The documentary may be incorrect, but judging it without all the facts is wrong too. As Christians, even if the truth radically changes our religion, don't you want to know?

WOW! Look at all the fundies coming out of the woodwork on this one. Fundies that would rather live in happy ignorance then know the truth. I think God is disappointed in many of you....

Cameron is pandering to the public and his "find" will be proven to be just bad science:

The statistical analysis is not rigorous

The name "Jesus" was a popular name at that time, appearing in 98 other tombs and on 21 other ossuaries

There is no historical evidence that Jesus was ever married or had a child

The earliest followers of Jesus never called him, "Jesus, son of Joseph"

It's unlikely Joseph, who had died earlier in Galilee, would have been buried in Jerusalem

The Talipot tomb and ossuaries probably would have belonged to a rich family, which is not a historical match for Jesus

Fourth-century church historian Eusebius makes quite clear the body of James, brother of Jesus, was buried alone near the temple mount.

The two Mary ossuaries do not mention anyone from Migdal, but just Mary, a common name

By all ancient accounts, the tomb of Jesus was empty, making it unlikely that any body was moved, allowed to decay for a year, then be put into an ossuary.

Amos Kloner, the first archaeologist to examine the site, said the conclusions cannot be supported by the evidence – but it's a way to make money on television. He would have nothing to do with supporting the movie's assertions. "It's nonsense," he said.

James, the half-brother of Jesus and author of the book of James, the early leader of the church in Jerusalem, was martyred for his faith. Why does James make no mention in his letter that Jesus was not bodily resurrected? When he was about to die why didn't he just recant his beliefs and say, 'Okay, okay! My brother didn't rise from the dead. Here's where we took him. Here's where his bones are. Here's our family tomb. We made the whole thing up?' People will generally not die for a lie when they know it's a lie. Why would James die perpetuating a lie when it would have been so easy to disprove? In fact why would any of the apostles go to their deaths for something they knew to be false?

I don't need to see the documentary to know that it is false. I have faith in God that what He has told us is the truth, therefore I have no need to go looking for Jesus in a box. The Bible tells us to beware of those who come preaching a different Jesus than the one we have been told of. A Jesus whose bones are in a box would definitely be a different Jesus than the one I accepted. I have no need to run after a false Jesus, and I have no need to hear some Hollywood producer's "truth" about Christ. Since this producer probably doesn't accept the story of Christ from the Bible, why should I accept him as an authority on the subject. Face it, the Biblical account has been told so many times that it won't bring any money to the boxoffice like an altered version would. The love of money is the root of all evil.

Because the truth is being distorted by the father of lies, satan. People claim this and that but they have no evidence. The following verses prove there will be no evidence of bones because there were none to remain. Just a linen cloth in an empty tomb.

Luke 24: 1-12 tells the story of how Peter found the tomb in which Jesus was buried in.
1) ¶ Now upon the first [day] of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain [others] with them.
2) And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3) And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4) And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5) And as they were afraid, and bowed down [their] faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6) He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
7) Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8) And they remembered his words,
9) And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
10) It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary [the mother] of James, and other [women that were] with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
11) And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
12) Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
[Verse 12 is the key verse. The linen clothes were by themselves. Nothing else around just the clothes. 2 Timothy 2:15 says this: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. I love this verse. It says a mouthful.]

Lies upset me. Innocent people who get swayed upset me. The only problem to their elaborate hoax is that the original Jewish professor who worked on the site, Amos Kloner, has already come forward to expose the claims as sheer nonsense.

Cameron hasn't had a hit since Titanic. What could he do to top it?
The truth about Jesus is:
God's words are the facts.

all the documentaries i have seen about the bible have been such a stretch as to 'what could have happened' that I don't bother watching them anymore... I know that they will not find the body of Jesus here on earth... because he is no longer in the tomb... he wasnt married.. and had no children... I have read the Word of God, and to doubt Him after all He has shown me in my life, would be wrong ...

The best way to learn about Jesus, is to read in the Holy Bible Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, because they tell you the story about Jesus' life on earth.

PS: I'm not upset with the people who said they found Jesus, because even if they did, it is not like they is going to find Jesus Himself there.

They are NOT claiming to have found his body:

"Hollywood director James Cameron displayed on Monday artifacts that he said might have come from the tomb of Jesus, which once contained his remains, those of Mary Magdalene, and possibly their son, Judah."

I don't get what the big stir is - the film makers are saying "hey we've got a box with no bodily remains" ressurrectionists are saying "hey, Jesus left not bodily remains" - sounds like everyone is saying the same thing.

Jesus said I am the resurrection- I believe Him, Jesus is truth himself again the devil is trying to subvert belief and for the lukewarm it may have profound impact. But for those who are strong in their faith they recognize that truth is something objective, solid and unchangeable. The devil, the father of lies and murderer from the beginning is up to his old habits calling God a liar so it was in the beginning and so it is today

I haven't heaard of it although, from what I've seen/heard, there's never been any accurate info about Jesus' existence and even less about his adoptive father, Joseph, the one who would be in charge of getting a burial place for the family. Besides, the Bible says that the tomb was empty. And that was the tomb Joseph of Arimithea, a diff. person than the adoptive father, buried Jesus in.

I can imagine the answers that come in here!

At what point, does one say, that is foolishness, I will have none of that. If not now, tell me when?

Do you not know that we have a responsibility to rebuke these things - that we are partially responsible if stand idly by and say nothing? That God will punish us if do not speak out against such nonsense!
