It hasn't been delayed, but if you were expecting it to happen on January 1, 2000 or 2001 at the beginning of the literal mathematical millennium, it obviously isn't going to happen. I like to use this quote by Elder Boyd K. Packer, an Apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, from 1987. He was speaking to a group of Seminary-aged youth (say age 14 to 18), and told them that they had plenty of time to get married and have families before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. He joked when they had children, "That will serve you right." He went on to say they would even have time for grandchildren. If you take the oldest of that group, who were 18 in 1987, and say they got married at age 20, or in 1989, then had a child the next year in 1990, then if that child grew up and got married around age 20, so in 2010 or 2011, then had a child (the first grandchild) the next year, the very earliest that the Second Coming could even POSSIBLY happen is in 2012. But that is the extreme range. You have to consider the 14-year-olds in that audience as well, and maybe the average age of marriage was closer to 24 or 25 for them. So really, we have at least 15 to 30 more years to go. That means we have more time to get the world ready, but it doesn't mean we should procrastinate repenting and serving those around us. You have to clean house before an important visitor comes, and there is a lot of stuff to clean up - physically and spiritually - in the next 15 to 30 years. Have a happy day and I send you a gummy bear.

I believe Jesus delayed his second coming because all the things that were foretold in the Bible happening before He came has not happened yet. Jesus said, This generation shall not pass until these things have happened. Some people think that when Israel become a country in 1947? that started the end times. They also believe that in 2047 the AntiChrist will come. From 1947 to 2047, one generation will have passed.

If JESUS will be back here on earth again, it is not the second time.Read this verse:

1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Corinthians 15:4 and that he was buried; and that he hath been raised on the third day according to the scriptures;
1Corinthians 15:5 and that he appeared to Cephas; then to the twelve;
1Corinthians 15:6 then he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep;
1Corinthians 15:7 then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles;

You see, he appeared many times, not second coming.

I am guessing that the best answer to this would be 'all in good time'. Even Jesus himself said that he didn't know when the hour would be. So I suppose nobody out here in the internet ether will have any hope of answering you! It's just God's will, and who are we to say why or how. Have a browse through the New Testament - find a Bible with Jesus' words in red - and have a glance at what he says about it.

It's not delayed. Jesus will come "like a thief in the night", when the time is right. Which may be soon with the direction this world has turned in. We are truly living in the days of Sodom & Gomorrah. The last days.

Jesus is waiting so that more will repent and turn to Him. Not wanting that ANY should perish, but everyone come to Him. Read 2Peter3:9-11. God also, thru Noah warned the people many yrs before the flood came. God/Jesus Do have mercy on us and gives us all much time to repent and turn to Him.

He hasn't.

All of the prophecies are still being fulfilled before the second coming has yet to occur.

Besides, God is never late... he's always on time! His timing might just be different from the world's timing.

Also, I wouldn't put a time frame on when you say Jesus is coming - because chances are, us humans are WRONG.

there is no delay, Jesus said that no one knows when he will come but only father that dwells in heaven. he will come when no-one expects. by the way, people expect second come almost in every generation, we must be ready for his come, but it doesnt really metter for you whether you'll live at that time or not if you are his man...

1. Until the full number of Gentiles has come in (Romans 9-11).
He is giving people opportunity to change.
2. In places like China, Africa, South & Central America Christianity is exploding! Actually more people are coming to Christ now than ever in history. He is saving people, filling up heaven with souls.

Matthew 24:48-51
"But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming, and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

2 Peter 3:9
"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."
