Hell yeah! It would need to be a series-too long for one sitting. It would need to be accurate & truthful (unlike Mel Gibson's 'Passion' or 'Apocalypto). If it was, it would be a rude awakening for a lot of people. Especially, those who say God, Jesus is love.

You could never make a movie about the Whole bible. I have read the bible for years and I always find something new. A new story or something I didn't know before. There have been many movies based on stories in the bible, but to make a movie and incorporate the whole bible would be utterly impossible. Plus, if God wanted the bible on DVD, He'd have made one himself.
* Have any of you who hate the "Passion of the Christ" ever read the bible? That movie was a genuine perception of what happened to Jesus. Do you think it was too graffic or something? The bible says that Jesus was beaten so badly that you could see his bones. His flesh was torn off from his body. He suffered a horrendous, very violent, extremly graffic death that even a movie like "The Passion" can't even begin to describe. Before you start judging the movie because it was "too graffic" why don't you try reading the book in which the movie came from.

It would be too long of a movie, for one. That's one reason to not make a movie version of the Bible.
Another reason is that it would be a boring movie in some places. There are some exciting stories in the Bible, such as the exodus from Egypt and the story of Samson. But, many portions of the Bible are simply too dry to make a movie out of.
Some stories, sure. All of them, not really.

There was one, but it looked just like any other fairy tale made into a movie, besides if you want a new bible movie, which of all the bibles are you talking about?, they should make a movie about the Book of Mormon (that should make Salt Lake City happy) or the Quoran (no one would want to play Muhammad and start WW3).

For one thing, it would be so long, nobody could sit through it. Besides, Deuteronomy and Leviticus aren't really all the "script friendly." Secondly, unless a non-major studio made it, it would just be more "Christian/Religion Bashing." The Book is a GOOD read (pun intended). Just settle for that. But don't get popcorn butter on the pages. YBIC

No. It would be too long and they probably would change it to be politically correct. Also, many portions would be rated R.
Best movies based on the Bible...
Joseph (with Ben Kingsly)
Ten Commandments (Charlton Heston)
Jesus of Nazareth (mini series)
The Bible (John Huston-nice attempt)

All the worlds a stage, for the God Shew.
If you're here, then you're playing Life or Death;
Which is to allegory say it's either Grace or Law,
for "you", and all the kingdom of God "within you".
http://www.godshew.org/TwoGods.htm
It's all "allegory" in both "covenants": Galatians 4.
It's also a "mystery" to solve, as noted 20 times.
So, one could think of it as the ultimate matrix.
http://www.godshew.org/Allegory.htm
Two options are: "no escape" and "escape".
The "no escape" part is notably for "them".
The "escape" part is a God given, unto "us".
http://www.godshew.org/RevelatorySermons32.htm
God given victory is "through Jesus->Christ".
http://www.godshew.org/through.htm
Through J->C ends with C: the end of the law.
No law = no sin = no dead end for "you all".
The "you all" in "the end" begins with "you".
http://www.godshew.org/YeYou.htm
Thank God "the end" of the God "Shew" is already written:
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen .

There is a series, their selling on TV commercials for family lessons. The BIBLE just doesn't seem like something that should be edited for content, TV or at all...a movie wouldn't do it justice!

It would take too long. It would be more like a series. Mel Gibson should produce it in horror color.
