install divx from http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/
and then open the file using the divx player
this works because divx codec is use on the video and so the player has the codec to play the file

google the problem youre having and download the proper codec pack for what youre trying to do
i had to download a lot of xvids before i found the right version

You need to get the codec from here: http://www.xvid.org/ or here: http://www.xvidmovies.com/
After the codec is installed you should be able to use your system's default media player. For Windows it is usually Windows Media Player.
